Alterations to the Hôtel de la
Poste, organised by the local Sierre “Bourgeoisie”
Competition 2005 / Completion 2006-07
Associates: Claude Fabrizzi, François Meyer
Programme: 3 Star hotel, 15 rooms, café, restaurant, kitchen,
terraceThe Hôtel de la Poste, built in 1766, is located in the
Rue du Bourg where, at the rear of the buildings, there remains an
undefined open space area. The project makes provision for the
redefinition of this “rear” area by transforming it into a park
that will extend from the City Hall to St-Catherine Church. In this
new park, a glass-walled pavilion in the shape of a shamrock will
be built to house the restaurant. The hotel will be completely
renovated in order to offer today’s modern conveniences and will
comprise 15 rooms, decorated on an individual basis using wood as
the keynote. The bistro, a favourite with the Sierre locals, will
be fully renovated while retaining its original atmosphere.
Opening – June 2007. |
