Chalet Conversion
Champéry

Blueprint 2003
Associate: Dauner

Brief: 3 apartments,
1 with 6 rooms and 2 with 4 rooms

This is a typical chalet of the Val d'Illier region and dates from 1926. An earlier conversion had already been carried out on the north side.

The objective was to preserve and highlight the structure of the original beams – principally, the façades, the dividing walls of the three rooms to the south, and the roof. The northern façade, which is in contemporary wooden style, has to be redone.

The chalet has three apartments which resemble private houses. There is no common stairwell, each apartment having its own entrance on the ground floor, where there is storage space for skis and a staircase leading to the apartment.
