| Commission Apartment Block,
Arbaz
Blueprint 2003
Associate: Cordonier
Brief: a residental building of 5 apartments, 3 with 4
rooms and 2 with 3 rooms.
Although situated on the northern boundary of the plot,
part of the building faces south and west. Its position
on the highest point of the plot also provides a more interesting
view without changing the natural slope.
The building is on a slant, at the junction of two geometrical,
in alignment with the road behind and with reconnaissance
of the configuration and orientation of the plot. Its volume
is compact in the interests of rationality and cost-effectiveness
in respect of construction, land and energy.
Each apartment has its own entrance and private stairwell,
so that it is more like a private house than a flat in a
residential block.
Moreover, each apartment opens on three sides to the south
and north east/west and has a large non-superposed balcony,
giving a real feeling of being outside surrounded by trees.
